What Changed in AccountChek, and Why We Rebuilt It

Built as one, not assembled from parts.

It’s a new day for AccountChek® users. Informative Research has rebuilt the automated asset, income, and employment verification tool into a single unified system designed to provide a more streamlined login, ordering, reporting, and billing experience.

As a mortgage data and technology company, IR actively pursues strategic innovation to effectively support industry stakeholders. Upgrading AccountChek is the natural next step in IR’s efforts to deliver excellence. Complemented by Informative Research’s recent investments in platform automation, this upgrade creates an integrated, scalable verification tool intended to alleviate borrower friction, reduce manual tasks for lenders, and lower the cost of consumer data for all.

What capabilities does AccountChek offer?

As lenders manage fluctuating volumes, complex verification requirements, and an ever-changing regulatory landscape, the upgraded AccountChek is positioned to keep pace, with changes focused on five critical areas:

  • Built-in single sign-on: Native single sign-on provides a more intuitive login experience, cutting out unnecessary steps for users. The full suite of verification of assets (VOA) and verification of income/employment (VOI/VOE) solutions is available through a single system with one login.
  • Simple billing management: Instead of chasing down bills across systems, lenders can access and manage billing for all AccountChek products and reports in one place, reducing time spent on tracking and reconciling charges.
  • Modern report delivery: Reports are now generated via asynchronous data harvesting, which collects account data in the background. Borrowers need only link their accounts once. That connection covers any data refreshes needed later in the loan process.
  • Operational resiliency: AccountChek is designed to support uptime and reliability lenders can depend on, even as demands on the system grow.
  • One unified infrastructure: Everything from login to reporting runs on the same foundation, reducing points of friction and simplifying connections with other tools and platforms in the lender’s tech stack.

Why is platform cohesion so critical?

AccountChek began as an asset verification tool. As GSE data validation initiatives evolved and lenders moved to digitize more of the loan file, income and employment verification were added to meet the moment, each earning its place in lenders’ workflows.

Today, those programs have matured to the point where a single consumer-permissioned data report can simultaneously verify assets, income, and employment. AccountChek has responded to each stage of that evolution, and this stage called for unifying the capabilities the platform had added along the way. So Informative Research rebuilt AccountChek from the ground up as one system, designed around how lenders verify today.

That’s why a unified infrastructure and modern code base stands at the heart of the AccountChek upgrade. Instead of spending time on duplicate data entry and report reconciliation, as with many systems built of disjointed innovations and acquisitions, lenders can focus on high-level decisioning and risk management. As a unified platform, AccountChek can also be easily integrated with a broader tech stack via modernized APIs designed to give lenders and partners greater flexibility when connecting AccountChek to their existing workflows.

For the mortgage industry, the new AccountChek demonstrates the true potential of verification technology when it’s built cohesively. Lenders’ verification needs will continue to shift alongside industry changes. AccountChek now has one foundation to build on as they do.

How do I switch to the new AccountChek?

Informative Research is taking a phased approach to complete the integrated partner and current client migrations by the end of September, ensuring a smooth transition rather than a disruptive one.
